P90X Day 59 – Shoulders And Arms, Ab Ripper X

P90X Day 59 was P90X Shoulders And Arms and Ab Ripper X.

I increased weight or reps throughout the entire routine.  The only one that gave me problem was going up on in and out curls the second time through.  Lying tricep extensions towards the end also did not improve, but I was fairly fried at this point.

And I struggle with some parts of Ab Ripper and then some moves I do very well.  It’ll get there and will be easier once I drop a lot of the belly flab.

P90X Day 58 – Plyo X

P90X Day 58 was Plyo X.  This routine always seem to start slow for me and then really pick it up towards the end.  It goes by fast once I get past the first rotation of moves.

Diet has been good.  I’m watching weight to see what happens.

P90X Day 57 – Repeating P90X Week 9

So I promised I would start blogging more, so here it goes.

Yesterday was P90X day 57 for me:  Chest and back and ABX.

As I mentioned, due to being sick and then being out of town, I am restarting this week.  I could tell that the stomach bug I had and not getting to eat enough took its toll on my strength (that and not getting much sleep).  All of my reps were down slightly.  I actually ran out of energy during ABX and just could not complete it.

I did get 5 meals in yesterday on a new, slightly tweaked diet plan geared towards fat loss (still in the P90X plan, just making a change to fit my goals).

I did weight in at 198, which means I did not lose too much weight with this mess.  I’ve been known to lose 5 lbs in a weekend when sick like that.

P90X Catchup Post – P90X While Sick

Well, a few minor snags with P90X at the end of phase 2 and so far the start of phase 3.

I ended last week with bronchitis. Did not exercise this Monday (start of phase 3) due to feeling like death. On Tuesday, I did Chest and Back at about 80%, slightly tweaked a muscle in my back, and then only made it halfway through Ab Ripper due to still being dizzy from the coughing and medicine I’m taking.

Last night I went to bed feeling a bit funny and I knew what I had: Stomach bug.

Sure enough, woke up this morning and was sick, but not too bad. Still pressed play on Plyo….for about 30 minutes, and then was just too dizzy and weak to continue.

Here’s the thing: It happens. I’m not going to beat myself up over this. In fact, I had already made the decision to repeat this week so I can push at 100% after I get back from going to a Zurvita convention.

So I’ll be blogging more regularly next week, but will be out of pocket the next several days.

P90X Day 60 Results – Pictures To Follow

I’m behind on blogging, but wanted to post my P90X 60 day results. I do not have 60 day pictures up yet. I’ve been a bit sick (will talk about that in a separate post) but here are the measurements:

Weight:
Started: 208
60 Day: 200

Neck:
Started: 17.5″
60 Day: 16.5″

Chest:
Started: 48″
60 Day: 45″

Waist:
Started: 44.5″
60 Day: 41.5″

Biceps:
L Started: 15.0″
R Started: 14.5″
60 Day: 15″ each

Thighs:
L Started: 23.5″
R Started: 23.5″
60 Day Left: 22″
60 Day Right: 21″

According to the caliper readings my wife took my body fat % is down to just under 24%. I’m making progress and looking good for my goal of 15% body fat by August.

P90X – Major Catch-Up Post – On Recovery Week 2 Now

Wow, I’m very, VERY behind in blogging about my P90X progress. I apologize, life just sometimes gets in the way.

Last week I took a trip and did not get back until late Monday, which put me back too late (and too tired) to press play. So, instead, I pushed everything back a day and did not take a rest day. Last week was grueling battling from the weekend trip and being tired, but felt good about the progress.

Today is P90X Day 49 Yoga X. It was the start of my second recovery week. Again, I get more tired from my weekends than I do from my normal days, so I was a bit tired. I also did not have a very good diet day yesterday, which made me nauseated going to bed last night and did not sleep well. I struggled heavily during Yoga today, but struggled through it to the end.

Speaking of diet, I’ve learned that I have to add calories. I’ve gone to two double snacks now instead of just a single and it seems to be doing the trick. I hope it keeps up.

Measurements and pictures at the end of this week. I know I’ve lost a decent amount across my chest but not so much in the waistline. I hope to see a change in my back fat as well.

P90X Day 37 – Plyo X and P90X Day 38 – Back And Biceps, Ab Ripper X

Another catch-up post. Business has kept me busy at night, so writing here has not always been easy.

P90X Day 37 was Plyo X. I felt very, very drained when I first started. But the further I went into it, the harder I could push. I guess just getting the heart pounding and blood flowing more released some extra energy that I had stored up. I burned 915 calories during this routine today, including skipping the bonus round. I just felt to tired after pushing hard for the last 3 phases of the workout to do it.

P90X Day 38 was today, Back and Biceps and Ab Ripper X. Everytime I do this routine, I feel weak. I’m watching Tony bust out 45’s on curls and I’m using 20’s and struggling at 10 reps! Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever put on muscle but, for now, I’m perfectly content with just burning fat. Ab Ripper was a trip today. I’m trying to make it a goal to do 20 of each move in one session by the end of round 1.

Speaking of fat loss, I’m going to be curious what happens over the next week and half. Week 3 of phase 1 is when the fat really started melting off of me, as well as the weight (minus the ups and downs from the steroid pill I was taking for the reaction). So far this round, I’m not losing weight, which is odd. I’m hoping that week 3 of this phase ends up being a LOT like week 3 of the last phase and the weight and fat burns off.

I’ve also upped my calories just a bit to see if that will help me continue to burn at a better rate without bonking. Right now I’ve added 1 single carb based snack. I’ll observe over the next two and half weeks to see if that does the trick.

P90X Day 36 – Chest, Shoulders, And Triceps, Ab Ripper X

P90X Day 36 was Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps (CST) and Ab Ripper X. I could feel that the extra calories consumed yesterday helped a bit today, so I think keeping at 100-200 more a day is what I am going to have to do. Most of my reps/weights increased, but towards the end I could tell I had exhausted myself. This is such a good but TOUGH workout.

Its nearly 5 hours after completing it and my arms and chest are still trembling!

Ab Ripper X was in the middle. Some I did more of, some I did less of. Trying to get consistent on each move.

P90X Day 33 And 34 – Legs And Back, Ab Ripper X, Kenpo X

Playing catch-up yet again on posting, one of these days I’ll stay caught up!

Friday was Legs And Back and Ab Ripper X. I backed my calories back down to “2400″ (Level 2) but I have a feeling it is a bit too few. I felt weak during most of the routine. I pushed hard through it but it just wasn’t in me. I was not sure if it was the lack of rest from this week that contributed or all nutrition.

Ab Ripper was good, fairly good, though. I am getting through most of the routine now, minus just a couple of moves. The first three are always toughest on Legs and Back day.

Saturday was Kenpo X. I’ll admit I ate off the diet Friday night (way off the diet….Pizza). So I knew I needed to push extra hard. I burned 882 calories in the 58 minutes, so not a bad push.

I think this week I am going to work on ramping up the nutrition a bit, adding 100 -200 calories and see how I feel during the resistance workouts. Today is my rest day (day 35) and I did add 100 more, so we’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

P90X Blog – I Was Hacked – P90X Days 29-32

Wow, I’m way behind this week due to a lot going on, but my P90X workouts have been going.

First, my apologies. It appears I was hacked. Without getting technical, it appears they modified something with the theme I was using, hence the different layout to this blog. I hope no one got hit by a virus or anything, but not quite sure how it happened but it appears to be fixed.

Now, in regards to the workouts:

My P90X Day 29 was the start of Phase 1. Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps (P90X CST) was day 29, and it was a killer! Any workout that starts with slow-motion push-ups and ends with one arm push-ups just is not an easy routine. I felt weak looking at my numbers, but I know it is all part of the muscle confusion.

P90X Day 30 was Plyo. I should mention that I’m on Phase 2 of the diet: More carbs! It really helped with this routine. I made it through all of the workout and burned well over 900 calories.

P90X Day 31 was Back and Biceps (and Ab Ripper X). Tuesday night was a rough night with one of our daughters, so sleep was not very good. I felt a bit weak during this routine. It is now Thursday and my arms are still sore!

P90X Day 32 was Yoga X. Typical Yoga session for me. I chose to sleep in and ran late, so I had to cut out a portion.

Regarding the diet, the increased carbs is very nice. I’m still eating at Level 2, which is a fairly decent size deficit. But it seems to be working, so if it is not broke, I’m not going to try to fix it.
