Internet Marketing 90 Day Challenge – Round 2 Begins!

July 6th, 2009

My home business company is doing some really great things in the very near future, and I’ve been working hard to begin building my home based business through Internet Marketing fairly consistently over the last several weeks.

So knowing that, I figured it is time to step up to the plate and offer:

Internet Marketing 90 Day Challenge – Round 2!

I’m doing this in conjunctino with my P90X exercises (starting a 2nd round tomorrow as well), so I can keep on a fairly close schedule between the two.  In fact, I’ll probably video log about both in the same night if I get a chance (short amount of time to get work done, including video work, and get to bed early enough to get the workout in).

So what are my daily goals?

1.  Blog regularly.  No less than 4 times a week per blog, on most of them I hope to do more.  Blogging is a great way to release creativity and draw hits to your site.

2.  Comment on blogs.  I didn’t do this the first time around but now I am.

3.  Articles.  I have some older PLR articles that I hope to retool a bit and submit to as many different article directories (with the exception of 1, which I’d have to completely rewrite each article to submit to it).  Also plan to write a few here and there on my own as I can get around to it.

4.  Videos, of course.

5.  Social Networking – I plan to try to use MySpace and Twitter more for networking.  I do not view Facebook as a great “networking” tool or promotional tool yet, but people follow what I do.

6.  Learn – Its best to keep learning and keep growing.

7.  Keep accountable.

8.  Involve the wife.  I’m beginning to teach her some of the basic stuff I do.  If she can handle some of it, it will lighten my work load at night.

So with that, here I go.  I hope to have enough time to blog here and my other blogs and keep enough accountability going by using this blog to give daily progress reports.  It’ll be tight trying to fit everything in…but I expect great results from doing this.

So be looking for my Internet Marketing challenge update tomorrow!

Accidental Internet Marketing

March 25th, 2009

I have an interesting story about an accidental Internet marketing experience I’m having.

As I noted earlier, I started a blog about my P90X workouts.

Yes, I’m using my typical Wordpress techniques and on-page SEO techniques that I use.  But I never expected to see the amount of traffic to come in with so little off-page efforts, promotion, or anything else.  Just simply blogging…

But in one week I’ve had 128 visits, most of those in the last 3 days.  86 of those are from search engines (the only other places I’ve promoted were two forums and Facebook).

Now, I’m doing nothing to monetize this blog (yet), but simply keeping it as a daily journal of what I am doing with my P90X workouts, dieting, etc.

But my point is this…

If there is a popular activity in your life that you do regularly, blog about it.  Build a readers base, build a rapport, and then introduce a way to make money off of the blog (Adsense, affiliate sales, whatever).  You do not necessarily have to do a lot with the blog, just keep updating it regularly with something you do.

Building A Better Me (Internet Marketing, P90X)

March 16th, 2009

While I’m not performing my 90 Day Internet Marketing challenge as good as I probably should, I am still seeing results.  What is the problem?  Simply getting busy!  Busy is good, but it does cause me not to get as much done as I want to get done.

But the entire point of this journey is to prove to myself that I can be consistent and that I can grow.

On March 16, I start a new 90 day journey that will overlap with my Internet marketing journey.  This journey, as I’ve documented on here before, is my journey through transforming myself diet, exercise, and consistency.

I’ve dedicated this year to buiding a better me.  My family deserves it, my God deserves it, and honestly, I deserve it.

My goals are to transform myself.

-  Be better in business
-  Be better physically
-  Be a better husband
-  Be a better father
-  Be a better worshiper
-  Be a better person

So I continue my journey.  I just add a new path to it starting tomorrow.   Feel free to follow my status on my P90X Blog.

Anyone Can Commit To Anything For 90 Days…

February 28th, 2009
P90X

P90X

As I am working through my 90 day Internet marketing challenge I’m noticing how easy it is to actually stick to something.  And when you think about it, 90 days is really nothing.  Its less than 3 months.

So in keeping with various goals I wanted to accomplish this year, losing weight was one of them.

But I have two problems, one bad and one both bad and good:

The Bad – I get bored with cardio really, really easy.  I found it easy in grade school when playing football to do cardio.  Its real easy to keep running when you have coaches giving you motivation to complete your sprints.

But the problem is, now that I’m older, cardio does not keep my interest.  I’ve tried walking, jogging, bike, elliptical, and I get really, really bored with all of them.  Even with my iPhone, I simply get bored.  I’m not imaginative enough to switch things up myself and make it more interesting.

The Good and Bad – I suffer from a bit of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD, completely self-diagnosed).  I’ve always been this way.  When I get it in my head that there is something I want to do, I simply do it.

It has its good points and its bad points.

When I was in high school, I was OCD about music.  I practiced a ton of hours each week.  I parlayed it into a music scholarsihp in college.

In college, I was OCD about computers.  It helped me get a good paying job.

Several years ago, I was OCD about tennis.  I played tennis 2-3 hours a day, at least 5 days a week.  I lost weight (but not enough) and had fun, but took a lot of time away from my wife.

I go through spells of OCD with playing poker.  I find the game fascinating.  I’ve made money and lost money at it, and had fun, but found I was just treading water.

Right now I’m OCD about success.  I work my Internet marketing and network marketing businesses daily.  And I’m starting to see results…

So it has its good points and its bad.

So I figure if I want to lose weight and get in shape, I need to OCD on it, which is hard when you get absolutely bored with something.  Plus, in keeping with these personal 90 day challenges, I wanted to find something that had a cycle, a definitive start and end date (although to get to where I want to go I know it will take longer than 90 days, but I have a cycle to focus on.

So as I saw a few people post about P90X and then watched the infomercials, it seemed to be a perfect fit.  I started reading around on it, asking questions of others, seeking others I personally know who have done it, and decided that it fits in with my goals:

1.  It is a variety of exercises.

2.  It is in a cycled format (i.e. the 90 stands for 90 days)

3.  It included dietary needs (another area I always struggle with when exercising)

4.  It shows modifications in case you have a hard time doing things as shown.

So with my 90 day Internet marketing challenge, I will start a 90 day personal fitness transformation.  I do not expect to look like Hercules after one cycle, but I do fully expect to lose weight and feel better, which will make every other area of my life better.

Special thanks to Coach Keith Harris who will be my personal coach through this system.  You can find out more about what all he has done through his blog:  Crush Play.  I’m ordering the system through him for faster and cheaper shipping.  If you are interested, order through him as well and tell him I sent you.

As I begin, I will be charting progress on a seperate blog under this domain.  For now I’ll spare everyone my “before” pictures, but as I get further along and see results I will post pictures as well as measurements and notes about how everything feels.
