90 Day Internet Marketing Challenge – Week 2 Recap

February 3rd, 2009

So I’m a bit behind on video blogging about this…

I actually recorded last Thursday, but never got that video to the web.

But, I’m proud to say that I’ve made it through 2 weeks without missing a day of doing something each day.  The biggest area I’m behind in is article marketing.  I’m going to spend some time during the day coming up with articles to write and knock them out in the early part of the night, when my brain is still fresh.

So this week I concentrated heavily on blog marketing, videos, social bookmarking, social sites (mainly Twitter), and forum marketing.  The results?  More traffic, more opt-ins.

Right now I’m in the process of rebranding around 1GB of team videos to use with a different profile with Traffic Geyser.  I will use some similar keywords, some slightly different keywords, and work on starting to promote another set of videos through these different channels.

Something else I started playing with, just as an experiment, is auto-blogging.

The concept is more natural to affiliate marketing than network marketing, but wanted to see if it would work.  Quite simply, autoblogging is a method of setting up a blog to post a series of articles or content on specified days.  I took the time to set it up and put enough content to run until mid December.  It will use one keyword combination and send it to my http://www.BrentsPlan.com domain.

Another thing I have started going is submitting my blog’s RSS feeds to different feed directories.  It spreads the word about my blogs as well as adds additional backlinks in the search engines.  Fortunately, its a one-time act per blog.  I’ll monitor over the next several weeks and months to see if it increases traffic.

My results after 2 weeks?  Traffic is still increasing and becoming more steady (Saturday was a bit low on traffic, but thats okay).  Opt-ins are coming in more.  And, minus getting tired at times, I’m really enjoying this challenge.  Its pushing me, but its building the character that it takes to be consistent with my business and to build something that means something.

I have some great thoughts regarding dreams (well, more thoughts on dreams) and passion that I have posted on my other blogs.  I’ll write some about that here starting tomorrow.  Until then…have a great night/day/etc!

90 Day Internet Marketing Challenge

January 18th, 2009

So getting back into the swing of things I have decided that it is time to piece together a plan of action with my Internet Marketing.  In particular, I knew I needed a daily plan of tasks to do that will increase search engine rankings, exposure for my sites, prospects calling me (or purchasing my products), and fill my pipeline with qualified prospects.

So I have pieced together my 90 Day Internet Marketing Challenge.

The goal here is to do certain tasks each day.  This will ensure that I have a constant flow of fresh content to be picked up by the search engines, targeting certain keywords each week, and building a flow of visitors to my websites.

So here is my plan:

Step 1:  Identify keywords to use for each week.  Target only a handful of keywords each week.

Step 2:  One (1) article a day posted to a handful of article directories.

Step 3:  At least one video posted each day based on those keywords.  The great thing is with Traffic Geyser I can have that keyword targeted for video release up to 4 times.  I will schedule later releases of those videos over the next month or two, gaining maximum exposure for those keywords.  It helps that my business partner in Zurvita has released a lot of free videos for our team in order to handle video marketing.

Step 4:  Blog at least once a day.  Most days I’ll just use the articles.  Some days I’ll post in a video and some comments.  But mainly articles.

Step 5:  Once or twice a week I want to do a personal video blog.  I’ll simply record a short message on what I’m doing, how the Internet Marketing is going, if my traffic is increasing, what is going on with the Zurvita business, etc.

The key is going to be consistent daily action over the 90 days.  I plan to do some setup today in some areas and then start the challenge tomorrow.  The goal is to spend no more than 2 hours a day doing all of this, but will not rule out spending more than 2 hours at anything.
